Health insurance: fast access to private healthcare for you and your family
Medical network, free choice of specialist or a combination of both. We help you choose the plan and the insurer, and make the most of the advantages if you take it out through your company.
Three plans, three ways to access private healthcare
With a medical network plan, you use the insurer's network of doctors and centres, usually with small co-payments. With a reimbursement plan, you can see any doctor and the insurer refunds a percentage of the bill. A mixed plan combines both.
For executives and business owners, reimbursement and international cover are often decisive: choosing a trusted specialist and being covered outside Spain too.
Worth knowing
If your company offers health insurance, or includes it in flexible remuneration, the tax saving can be significant for you and your family.
The cover worth having
Primary care and specialists
Consultations, diagnostic tests and treatment.
Hospital and surgery
Admissions, surgery and emergency care.
Free choice
Reimbursement of a percentage of the costs with the doctor of your choice.
International cover
Emergencies abroad or planned treatment outside Spain, depending on the policy.
Dental
Dental cover and reduced fees for the whole family.
Second opinion
Assessment by leading specialists for serious diagnoses.
Specific cover depends on the policy and insurer chosen. We set out in writing what each proposal includes.
What we review before recommending a policy
We compare the leading insurers and review the points that, on the day of a claim, decide what you will be paid.
- Plan type. Network, reimbursement or mixed, depending on how you want to use the insurance.
- Hospitals and doctors. Your trusted ones should be in the network or usable through reimbursement.
- Waiting periods and pre-existing conditions. Waiting times and how previous conditions are treated.
- Co-payments. Their real cost given how your family uses the insurance.
- Taking it out through your company. Tax advantages and group terms.
Your family's insurance, with the same rigour as your company's
Many of our private clients are business owners and executives who already trust us with their company. We review their personal insurance with the same technical rigour and, if a claim arises, our own claims department, supported by the Group's Legal Department, Trebia Abogados, defends them before the insurer until they are paid.
What clients usually ask us
Which is better, a network plan or reimbursement?
It depends on whether you have trusted doctors outside the network and how much you value freedom of choice. Reimbursement is more expensive but gives more freedom.
What are waiting periods?
Periods from inception during which certain services, such as childbirth or some procedures, are not yet covered. They can be waived in some cases, for example when switching insurer.
Can I include it in my flexible remuneration?
Yes, if your company offers it. It is exempt from Spanish income tax up to €500 a year per insured person, which means a saving for you and your family.
Am I covered abroad?
Many policies include emergencies while travelling. For full international cover there are specific products.
